The Rev. Jonathon W. Jensen, Rector

Jonathon brings two decades of experience in ministry and parish administration. He served as the dean of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Little Rock, Arkansas, from 2009-2013. Before his appointment as dean, he was the rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Lawrence, Kansas, from 2002 to 2009, and sub-dean and canon for pastoral care & outreach at Christ Church Cathedral, New Orleans, Louisiana, from 1998 to 2002. From 1996 to 1998, he served as assisting priest at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Potomac, Maryland, where he was also chaplain to the church’s day school.
Jonathon is a native of Kentucky and was ordained to the priesthood in 1996. He is a 1996 graduate of Virginia Theological Seminary, where he earned his Master of Divinity, and a 1993 graduate of Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, where he studied religion and philosophy. He also earned a certificate in Appalachian ministries in 1995 from Berea College.
He married the former Natalia Tolkacheva, originally from St. Petersburg, Russia, who grew up in the Crimea about 30 miles from the Black Sea. Natalie was graduated from Simferopol State University in the Crimea with a Masters degree in English, George Mason University with a Masters in International Trade, and the University of Kansas with a Masters degree in Slavic Languages and Literature. She currently is an adjunct factually member at Clarion University in the art department.
In his spare time, Jonathon enjoys playing guitar, ice skating, and Pittsburgh sports. Natalie enjoys walking the dog, opera, and the symphony. The couple shares their home with Misha, their Vizsla and Natalie’s mother, Nelly, who is a retired professor of biochemistry.
